Hello! Happy weekend my crafty friends… it’s been a while since I’ve played in a challenge other than Tic Tac Toe Challenge. A few days ago there was a card on Instagram posted by Michelle Ferguson of a cute Ice Cream cone with a cherry on top. Michelle mentioned in the post her card was for the Inspired By Challenge. I clicked the link and was quickly “INSPIRED” (hint, hint) by the source image below:

For my design I stamped images from the Birthday Take The Cake stamp set with my Misti Stamping tool on white cardstock using MFT Black Hybrid Ink.

I picked several Copic markers from my stash to color the cake, cake stand and cherries. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out with my Gemini Jr., die cutting machine. I love the look of all those beautiful cakes with Fondant icing and fancy decoration. I wanted to create that look on my cake and to make this happen I saw a technique used by Yana Smakula called selective masking. I masked off part of the cake and heat embossed the leaves details from the MFT Fantasy Florals stamp set with Versamark Ink and Stampendous Detail White embossing powder.

I die cut a panel of white cardstock from the Lil Inker Design Dual Stitched Rectangle Mats ( Lil Inker Design has gone out of business :() and adhered my cake and cake stand with foam squares. The SSS Birthday Messages sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added a few cherries to draw your eyes to the sentiment. I cut the striped background panel from a scrap in my stash with the next size in the die set and attached to an A2 Top Fold Card Base. I hope you like my take on the INSPIRED source.

Hello, crafty friends… It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday for my design this week I went back into the card vault. LOL, get it my play on words card vault ” Disney Vault”. I used an old Sketch Saturday sketch to create my card.

MY STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
The patterned paper panel from Carta Bella Spring Market, and Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf Card Stock were die-cut with Lawn Fawn Outside/In Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and squares from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Paper with Lawn Fawn Large Cross-Stitched Square Stackables.
The garden boots image from Simon Says Stamp Choose Joy stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with various Copic markers. I stamped the Chose Joy sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
To complete my design I cut and fold an A2 card base from Neenah 80 lb card base, adhered the art panel with Gina K Connect Glue. Hope you like my take on this weeks board elements ( right row down: Grass, Square, Layers)

Well, hello my crafty friends. Happy Tic Tac Toe Thursday… This week our board was created by Shannon. My design this week I used the board elements left row down ( Tilted, Stitched, Blue). This one was easy, peasy to put together.

The art panel was created on Neenah Classic Solar White 80 lb paper (die cut with MFT Cross-Stitch Oval and coffee cups with my Brother Scan N Cut and paper pierced with Lawn Fawn Gingham patterned paper ), attached to a 2 x 4¼ gingham paper and adhered to a top fold Neenah Desert Storm card base. I stamped the Coffee & Friends sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and the little heart with MFT Paver Red ink. This finishes off my design for this week. Hope you like it and feel free to leave a comment.

Hello again! I am posting my second homework assignment for AECP. This design I’m using the beautiful Build A Flower: Rose set again, I’m in love with this stamp set it’s fast becoming a favorite. I love these layered roses and the countless ways they can be used to create so many lovely designs.
If your new to layering stamps like me and feel intimidated by them, Altenew has layering guides with each set on their website. These guides are great if your not sure how to line the stamp layers up properly. The more I create and come out of my comfort zone I’m loving learning this new technique.

Second Design
For my second project, I created a single rose from the Build A Flower: Rose stamp set and die to create this beautiful design. To color the flowers I stamped with Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Red Cosmos, Green Fields Mini Cube Ink sets. This is quite simple as the images are fairly defined. If it isn’t exact it doesn’t matter in the least. The sentiment is from the Build A Flower: Sakura Blossom stamp and die set and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I was pleasantly surprised that my design came together easily by following the alignment guide. I wanted to set my rose in a frame so I die cut the art panel using the Lil Inker Stitched Mats Dual Stitched Rectangles to give it the look of a photo frame. Lastly I finished my card by adding a few Lucy’s pearls and adhered the lovely rose and leaves to the bottom right corner of the frame panel, and attached to Neenah 110 lb top fold card base. Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my design today!
