Freshly Made Saturday…..

Happy Saturday,

My crafty friends… I got a chance to play around in the haven this evening. I’m joining the design team over at Freshly Made Sketches today. I love the sketch designed by Jen Mitchell. I created another card earlier in the week for this challenge. For some reason I changed my mind. I know crazy crafter right….

For the new card I pulled out my distress inks stormy sky, salty ocean, blueprint sketch and blended them on Neenah Solar White cardstock to get a dark stormy sky. I splattered the background with water to give it a splotchy look. I wanted the rain to look surreal so I used my Nuvo Glimmer paste on the stencil from the Hero Arts February Card Kit. I cut an umbrella from the Silhouette Design Store and added white dots to give it character. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink added clear embossing powder to give it a glossy look. That’s my take on this week’s sketch. Hope You Enjoy!

Oh What A Beautiful Morning…. FMS #277

Happy Saturday my crafty friends… I’ve been busy as a beaver this week. I’m playing along in a few 30-day challenges this month one is the thermoweb national craft month Photo A Day Challenge the other is The Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge where you color something everyday. I share most of my photos for both of these challenges on Instagram @lisaluvs2stamp you can follow me there as well, If you would like to see what I’m up too each day. This morning I’m playing over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog for their weekly challenge. I have a dear friend who’s husband passed away this week and my heart is heavy.  I don’t typically like making Sympathy cards but this one I created for her.

Since I’ve been coloring most of the week I stamped the Divine stamp image by Penny Black stamps on Neenah Solar white cardstock with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink. I then colored the image with several copic markers and added a light blue shadow around the flowers. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx black  the stamp is Clearly Besotted Thinking of You set.  I had to add sparkle with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen Clear. I’m not even sure you can see the sparkle or the blue shadow around the flower in the photo. I then assembled the card on a Neenah Solar card base with a (SU) Elegant Eggplant mat and on top the art piece is on Neenah Solar white cardstock, of course I had to ad a little bling with some (HA) Pearls.

Freshly Made Saturday-FMS #276

Happy Saturday my crafty friends…. I’m playing and organizing the haven today and it’s been a blast. I created a card for this weeks sketch over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog… I’ve been wanting to ink up one of those flowers from the MFT Fancy Flowers stamp set. I stamped the flower and leaves with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink  on Neenah Solar white cardstock and colored the flower and leaves with copic markers. The sentiment was stamped on vellum with Simon Says Stamp Clear ink and  heat embossed with Stampendous Detail White Opaque embossing powder. I then adhered the flower to a Basic Black (SU) cardstock base and diagonal stripe patterned paper with a slight offset of vellum to mute the bold pattern of the designer paper. And there you have it! My take on this weeks sketch.

Hello – The Paper Players

Hello, My crafty friends.. we’re almost there the weekend is just a few hours away. Woot! Woot! I’m hoping I’ll get to play a lot this weekend in the haven…… This evening I’m playing over on The Paper Players blog and it’s all about showcasing those sentiments……. I knew the stamp set I wanted to use wasn’t sure about the type of medium I was going to use to get the look I wanted. I pulled out the Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set. I stamped the image on Strathmore Bristol paper used my Zig Clean color markers to color the flowers……… The Bristol paper and Zigs are a perfect match.  I  used a few markers but to get the almost sunset look on two of the flowers I blended the orange and pink on top of each other…. not so bad right. I added a little sparkle on the Hello with my Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen. You see a little bit of the shimmer on the Hello it’s a soft shimmery look. Happy TGIF eve and I’ll catch you later.

Hey Chick! Tag You’re It #65

Happy TGIF eve!….. yeah! It seems like a long week to me work is great. I’m  finding my groove at the new job………. I’m 5 weeks in and it’s been an exciting and very demanding few weeks. I’m back into the groove of things and I’m getting back on track of working on my goals that I have for myself…. I’ll let you in on the secret in a few weeks. This evening I decided to tag along over on the Tag You’re It blog I haven’t played this one in a while. I pulled out that cute Hey Chick set by “Stamp in Up” I think those are the coolest chicks I’ve ever seen……….

I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock with MFT Black Licorice ink. The tag was cut with a Lil Inker Designs Stitched Tags die. I colored the chick with copic markers. I wanted the chick to look like he was standing behind a wired fence so I masked off my chick and lightly stenciled the honeycomb background using my clarity stencil brush with a Smokey shadow ink from Paper Trey Ink. I then put some of the ink on a clear stamp block and mist it a little to get the ink platters on the tag. I used various May Arts ribbon the red I wanted to give it a straggly look to mimic the chicks straggly hair. Hope you like my take on the inspiration tag.

Stamp Set: Hey Chick (SU) Sale-A-Bration
Ink: Smokey Shadow (Paper Trey Ink)
Accessories: Various May Arts Ribbons
Tools: Big Shot, AnyTime Tags Die Set 2 (Lil Inker Designs), Clear Stamp Block,
