Hello…. It’s A Freshly Made Saturday

Happy Sunday my crafty friends….. I’ve had tons of time this weekend playing in the haven and boy does it feel good to create.  I’m joining a few challenges this week. So come along for the ride and enjoy!
I love the sketch that Kim created over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog this week… I knew I wanted a dramatic look and this Washi tape I had in my stash has a geometric sort of dramatic look about it…..

I used a  Neenah black  top-fold A2 card base and adhered the strips of Washi onto the card base. I  knew the exact image I needed to draw your eye to the background. I stamped a few images from my recent purchase MFT Delicate Pretty Poppies stamp and colored the flower and leaves image with various copic markers and cut out with my Brother Scan-N-Cut.

To finish my card I adhered the flower and leaves images on top of the Washi strips. I used the SSS Painted Hello Die for my sentiment and gave it an ombre look by using my copic markers. I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the center of the flower and a few Nuvo Crystal Drops and it’s a rap for this card.

Freshly Made……..

Happy Sunday eve……. I’ve been playing like crazy this weekend in the haven. It started on Friday evening I sat down to work on a card for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

For my card, I started by stamping and coloring several of the flower and leaves from the Avery Elle Floral Bouquet stamp with various copic markers. After coloring I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut the flowers and leaves.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to play out  I arranged the flowers and leaves on a square stitched panel and die-cut a rectangle piece of black patterned paper from an old Authentique Collection called Foundation.

I cut a thin strip of SU Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to just make the image pop and wowzer!!! I love this new In-Color form SU it brings out the color in the leaves. I added some Clear Wink of Stella and Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory Seashell to the center of the flower for shimmer and a little accent . The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink from the same stamp set. I finished it off by adding a few of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink to add a little interest around the flower.

Crafty Supplies:
Paper: Neenah Solar White (80lb), Authentique: Foundation Collection, SU Lemon Lime Twist
Stamp: Avery Elle Floral Bouquet
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaFine Onyx Black, Copic Markers (RV21,23,25,29 YG21,23,25,17).
Accessories: Lawn Fawn LG Stitched Rectangle and LG Stitched Square, Clear Wink of Stella, Nuvo Crystal Drops Ivory Seashell and Carnation Pink, Brother Scan N Cut.

I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch.

I’m back……..

Happy Memorial Day weekend my crafty friends….. I’ve never been so sick in my life. I had a follow-up this past Monday with my Doctor and she informed me that I had pneumonia. Well! Hello people I didn’t get the email or phone call for sure. I’m on a stronger antibiotic that kind of knocks me out.  I’m on the mend and  getting some playtime in the haven off and on this weekend. Woot! Woot! I’m doing the happy dance over here. I’m back and playing this weekend in two of my favorite challenges….. CASology and Freshly Made Sketches. The cue word over at CASology is LOUD and what better way to express it with two tweeting birds.

My first card is pretty simple. I stamped  the first bird onto some Neenah Solar white card and masked it off. I wanted that little bird to look like he was caged in and couldn’t get out that’s the reason for all  the noise. I then stamped the cage over the masked bird.  I stamped the second bird on the side of the cage because he wanted to rescue his little friend.. I colored the cage and birds with copic markers, and mounted my card on a top fold Fog card base.  I was done coloring those hearts and dropped my marker so I had to improvise by rounding the corners. This was pretty easy to create.

Next up is my card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I love the sketch that Linda designed this week. I stamped the Lilly from the SSS Friendship Blooms stamp set onto Neenah Solar White card and colored them with copic markers. I tried a different coloring technique. I feathered the lightest color (V15) on the bottom and tips of the flowers. I used the medium and darkest (V17, V09) leaving a little white highlight it gives the flower some dimension. The center was colored with (Y02) I cut the flowers and leaves with my Brother Cut N Scan no fussing cutting for this girl.

I then arranged my flowers around a MFT Stitched Square frame, added some clear Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little shimmer and a few Novo Crystal Drops in Crushed Grape to add  embellishments you got to have that you know.  I used some glossy accents on the stigma the little black dot in the center of the flower to make it pop. I  stamped the sentiment in Versa fine Onyx black ink inside the frame and mounted my card on a top-fold Neenah card base.

Yes! It’s A Freshly Made Sunday……..#284

Wowzer…… What a week my crafty friends.. I’ve been one busy Chica over here. Earlier in the week I was the Guest Designer on the CASology blog and the latter part of the week, I participated in a Mother’s Day blog hop.

It feels good to  sit in the haven and create again after my whirlwind week. I will say I have tons of respect for the ladies and companies that put together a blog hop. If I had to do it all over again I would jump right on that band wagon. It was exciting and lots to learn.

Well my friends this evening I’m playing over on The Freshly Made Sketches blog.  I had a hard time pulling this one together…… but when you have crafty friends that have great minds it all works out right. Here’s my take on this weeks sketch.. this one’s for you Sandy.

Guess What! Guest Designing At CASology

Woot! Woot! Guess what yeap! you guessed this girl is guesting on her favorite challenge……. CASology! Well enough of my ranting. The Cue word this week is Grow and boy did I have  to rack my brains on this one.
I used the Altenew Garden Grow stamp set and created a scene… I pulled out a ton of copic markers  and a little masking to make this one happen. I knew I wanted an outdoorsy ( is that even a word) setting so I pulled out a brick stencil to create my scene. I hope you enjoy my take on this weeks cue word…….
