Tic Tac Toe Challenge #278 – Blooming Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday and I’m excited to share this week’s board was full of fun possibilities and created by none other than Felicita, This week I chose the board elements: Stencil, Birthday, Die Cut .

My Card Design

For my project, I created a Happy Birthday Floral Frame card.

The florals were stenciled with Pink Fresh Studio Floral Border in a mix of pinks, reds, and corals, with fresh greens for the leaves. I die cut an extra Floral Border die out of Hammermill Cardstock to add a little dimension, making it feel like the blooms are spilling off the card.

The The bold “Happy Birthday” sentiment from Simon Says Stamp XL Birthday Greetings takes center stage, keeping the card’s purpose clear and celebratory. The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped on Hammermill Cardstock with Color Box Archival Black Ink and double stacked to make it pop! I added a touch of gems and glossy accents to a few blossoms for a subtle sparkle and shine.

What I love most about the Tic Tac Toe Challenge is how it sparks creativity. Choosing the Stencil – Birthday – Die Cut row helped me focus my design while still leaving plenty of room for creativity. I could easily see this same floral frame layout working with different color palettes, sentiments, or even a shaped card twist.

TTTC 275 Grateful For You – A Fresh Floral Thank You Card

This card features a bold all-over background of vibrant blue Hydrangea flowers and bright green leaves, stenciled to create a lively, design. The focal sentiment, “GRATEFUL FOR YOU,” the sentiment in white on a crisp black strip, making it pop against the floral background.

I used layered stencils and dye inks to create depth and variation in the blooms. Everything is mounted on a stitched panel with a clean black mat for contrast and adhered to a Neenah Solar White card base.

Hello Sunshine – TTTC 274

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a bright, summery card designed to bring a little extra sunshine to someone’s day. Nothing says “happy” quite like lemons, vibrant florals, and cheerful yellow tones!

Card Details

For this design, I started with a beautiful embossed background featuring an intricate tile and botanical pattern. I used yellow ink blending to highlight the raised texture and create a fresh, sunny base.

The focal point includes die-cut lemons, layered with crisp green leaves and delicate white blossoms. I added pops of pink flowers and small buds to create extra warmth and playfulness.

At the center, I placed a curved banner sentiment that reads “HELLO SUNSHINE” — perfect for brightening up anyone’s mailbox!

Favorite Techniques

✅ Ink blending on embossed backgrounds to bring out the details and add depth.
✅ Layered die cuts to create a lush, dimensional look.
✅ Adding unexpected pops of color (like pink) for a fun twist.

Supplies Used

Here are some of the main supplies featured:

  • Lemon and floral die sets
  • Embossing folder or plate for background texture
  • Ink blending tools and bright yellow ink
  • Sentiment banner die or stamp

I love working with bold, happy colors — they feel like a little dose of sunshine on my craft table. I hope this card inspires you to create and send your own “hello sunshine” moments!

Love and Affection – TTTC 273

Hello crafty friends!
I’m back with another handmade card for this week’s Design Team O feature! This week, Silke created a beautiful Tic Tac Toe Challenge board, and I had so much fun crafting with it.

My Chosen Row:

Top row across:
Love/Anniversary
Free
Square

I dug deep into the crafty cube and found the perfect combo to bring this vision to life!

Card Details

I started by stenciling the gorgeous Waffle Flower Lovely Rose Stencil using:

  • SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Guava and Watermelon for the rose layers
  • Simon Rainbow Splash Green for the leaves

All of this was ink blended on Neenah 100lb Solar White cardstock.

Once the stenciling was done, I die cut the panel using the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die—I just love the perforated stamp-like look it gives! I then adhered it to a standard A2 card base (5½″ x 4¼″), also in Neenah Solar White.

To finish it off, I added:

  • A sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Vintage Love Notes Stamp Set: “Love and affection”
  • A scattering of pink gems for a subtle sparkle
  • And a touch of vintage postal detail with stamped corners (15¢ and No. 251)

Final Thoughts

This card has such a soft and romantic vibe—perfect for an anniversary, Valentine’s Day, or simply to express heartfelt affection.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this inspires you to join in this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Be sure to tag me if you play along—I’d love to see your creations!

Until next time,

Be Awesome Today – TTTC 272

Hello crafty friends!

I’m back with another handmade card to share, and this week Design Team X is up! Betty has curated an amazing Tic Tac Toe board, and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

For my card this week, I was inspired by a design from Vicky P’s “10 Cards – 1 Kit” series and decided to create something with a vintage postage feel. Here’s how it came together:

Supplies & Process:

  • I started by die-cutting my main art panel from Tim Holtz Wallflower Patterned Paper, which came in the Simon Says Stamp May 2025 “Beautiful & Curious” Card Kit.
  • I used the Mama Elephant Femme Frames Die for the art panel.
  • To add layered texture, I trimmed a few extra strips from the same patterned paper, then ink-blended the edges using Distress Ink in Walnut Stain with a Simon Says Stamp small blending brush. I attached these strips with a stapler for that perfect shabby vintage look.

Details that Pop:

  • I die-cut the postage frame using Pinkfresh Studio Nested Rectangles Postage Edge Die out of Simon Says Stamp Ivory Cardstock.
  • The butterfly? I fussy cut straight from the Wallflower paper – popped up on foam tape for dimension.
  • The sentiment “be awesome today” is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers – one of my favorite go-tos!
  • To finish, I added a few pink enamel dots to tie in the floral colors and give it that final cheerful touch.

The Finished Look:

Here’s the card:

I really love the warm, nostalgic feel this design brings. It’s got soft botanical vibes, muted textures, and a sweet daily reminder: be awesome today.

TTTC 271 – Cozy Hello

Hello Crafty Friends!
This week I’m designing with Design Team O, and you know the deal—let’s see what creative fun Team O has in store!
Our Featured Designer this week is Jeanne, and as always, this weeks board has tons of inspiration!

My Cozy “Hello” Card

I went for a relaxed, cozy home vibe with this week’s card. The focal point is a deep navy armchair filled with stacked books—because nothing says “hello” like settling in with a good read! I paired it with a sweet little die-cut potted plant wrapped in twine to add a touch of warmth and texture.

The background is a bold brushed embossed pattern in bright blue, giving it a modern living room feel. I hot foiled the sentiment “HELLO” in gold on my Spellbinders Hot Glimmer for a clean, minimal greeting.

This card would be perfect as a thinking-of-you or just-because note—relaxed, warm, and a little bit bookish.

My design this week uses the board elements middle row down: Die Cuts, Ribbon/Twine, Embossing

Supplies I Used:

  • Dies:
    • Cozy Armchair Die Set (includes books, cushion detail potted plant die) Spellbinders May Large Die of the Month
    • Sentiment: “HELLO” stamped and hot foiled in gold with my Hot Glimmer
  • Background:
    • Dry Embossed with Spellbinders May Club Embossing Folder of the Month
    • Ink: Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Splash Lake
  • Cardstock:
    • Navy blue, white, assorted pastels for books

    • Olive & green tones for plant
  • Embellishments:
