TTTC 270 – Happy Father’s Day

Hello crafty friends!
I know—long time, no post! I’ve still been creating behind the scenes, just haven’t posted in a while. You know life happens and we often take care of the necessary things. For this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge Design Team X is up this round—and as always, they brought the inspiration!

This week’s board had a masculine theme, which always stretches me creatively. Masculine cards are something I tend to overthink, but I took this as a fun challenge to keep it clean and strong with a touch of heart.

My Card Details

For my card, I used the Taylored Expressions plaid layering stencil and ink blended with Taylored Expressions premium dye inks in Salt Water Taffy, Gumball and Blueberry on Neenah Solar White Cardstock 110lb., die cut with Spellbinders (A2 Matt Basic B-size die 3.875×5.125)

The sentiment, “You’re the Best”, is from C9 Kristina Werner’s Mothers & Fathers stamp/die set. I stamped in Simon’s White Pigment ink heat embossed with Simon’s Fine Detail White embossing powder onto Papertrey Ink’s Enchanted Evening (A2 card base) cardstock. I angled a small “Happy Father’s Day” banner across the corner for added movement and layered my plaid panel on the (Enchanted Evening) card base. To finish off my design I added a few blue shape heart brads.

The result is a soft, classic plaid that reminds me of a crisp button-up shirt—perfect for Father’s Day!

Ink & Paper Hugs,

thinking of you….

Happy Friday, friends! I’m glad you’ve stopped by today! I’m super excited to be sharing my first post as part of the Dies R Us Design Team.  I’m super excited to be a part of this amazing Design Team.

For my design this week I die cut a panel from a Bristol smooth paper with the largest die from the Penny Black Antique Frame dies. I placed the Memory Box Calais Butterflies die across the panel and die cut them out partially.

I masked off the butterflies and ink blended Worn LipstickTattered RoseSqueeze LemonadeTwisted Citron Distress Oxide inks onto the panel.

I removed the masks and blended the oxide inks onto the butterflies using the same colors to give them a soft ombre look.

To finish my design I added a few water droplets, splatters of ink to match the Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick Oxide Inks. The sentiment was stamped with black ink and heat embossed with Clear (EP). I adhered the panel onto an A2 Side Fold Neenah Solar White card base.

Don’t forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There’s a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all supplies links are provided below.

Sketch Saturday #477

Hello, Hello you crafty chica’s… I’m back on this Saturday morning over on the Sketch Saturday Blog and this week our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs.

For my design I choose FiFi Bubbles… I think she is so adorable and she has my nickname FiFi. To color my images I felt like I pulled out my entire Copic collection. I used some pattern papers from My Minds Eye: Necessities Wood 6×6 paper and Jellybean Soup: Blossom 6×6 paper. I adhered the pattern papers onto a Neenah Solar White A2 Top-Fold Card Base and the art piece was adhered onto MFT Cheery Crisp cardstock. To finish up my card I added a few enamel dots in various colors.
Thank  you for stopping by don’t forget to see what the other Design Team members created.

Freshly Made Sunday…….FMS # 279

Hello my crafty friends……. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here in So. California. It’s been a great weekend so far.  I’ve been doing what I love most crafting all weekend long. I went to Susan’s card class yesterday and today I’m off to Shannon’s card class this afternoon.  It’s good times for sure just sitting around chit-chatting with crafty friends.  What a life! I’m actually going to get a few challenges in this weekend yippee this girl love’s herself some challenges. You know me my favorite is Freshly Made Sketches. I’m playing along this week with Rita’s sketch and this one was a bit of a challenge for me hint, hint note challenge.

A few weeks ago I saw a card made by Amy Rysavy on her blog she talked about using things that’s in her stash.  I CASed her card a little and decided to go deep into my stash. I think what I like most was her use of a stencil….

Here we go I pulled out the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Flowers Stencil. I then blended my distress inks Spun Sugar, picked Raspberry and Festive berries for the Tulips onto a Neenah Solar White cardstock. The leaves was blended with Shabby shutters and mowed lawn. I used the Altenew Thanks stamp set for my sentiment and some sequins from my stash of Lucy’s Little Things Rose Gold.

Crafty Supplies:
Stamp: Altenew Many Thanks
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi (SU)
Ink: Hero Arts Intense Black
Accessories: Lucy’s Little Things Sequins Rose Gold

Hope you like my take on this weeks sketch.
