One of A Kind – CASology

Hello my crafty chica’s……….. Happy Sunday evening to yah! I’m hoping you had a fabulous weekend. I went to a watercolor class on Saturday and this morning I spent sometime in the haven getting my inky on… Let’s cut to the chase I’m playing over on the CASology challenge this evening and the Cue word is Clothes… I love too shop go figure right what girl doesn’t. Here’s my take on the cue word.

This one was pretty easy to make. I’ve been wanting to use the MMH April Card Kit for sometime now it is filled with tons of girly images and dies. I wanted my dress to look like it was on display in a dress shop.
I die-cut the mannequin base out of black cardstock and adhered it to a MFT Die-namics Cross Stitch Oval die cut out of Neenah Solar white cardstock.
I used one of the dress images and stamped it on some old patterned paper from my stash. I love this paper it has an animal print with pink roses in the design. I then stamped the hat image  in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink on Neenah Solar white cardstock and die cut it out adhered it to the top of the mannequin base.
I knew the patterned paper would be perfect for a dress. I used my white sharpie pen to add pearls around the neck. I used the leftover paper to give the image a backdrop… It’s a wrap hope you like my take on the cue word.

It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday……..

Hello, Hello my crafty friends……. Yeap! It’s that time Tic Tac Toe Thursday is here and I have a little something to share with you today. I’m going to link this card too a few challenges where Anything Goes. I like the Tic Tac Toe board that was designed by Corinne this week. My design originally started out as middle row across: Happy Birthday, Gray, Yellow it dawned on me after it was done oops! I used the wrong sentiment for the middle row.. but remember we’re playing TIC TAC TOE, I’m still in the game and won with the bottom row across: Hexagon, DieCut, Embellishment…… Woot! Woot! You see how you can’t go wrong with playing this game of TIC TAC TOE.

For my card today I did a “lil” ink smooshing with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks and used my heat tool to speed up the drying.
I took my clarity stencil brush and the Tim Holtz hexagon stencil to add a few hexagons and ink splatters with Hickory Smoke distress ink to give my background some pizzaz.
I stamped the SU Birthday Blooms flower image on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored the flower with various copic markers and cut it out with my Brother Scan and Cut. I added a few embellishments with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Liquid Mercury and English Mustard…
I don’t know if you see the sparkle but I added some Clear Wink of Stella to those flowers to give it a ‘lil’ dew you know like dew drops early in the morning…..
Hint, Hint from the looks of this card what row do you think I was creating off of…. lol. Thank you for stopping by today.

I’m also linking my card to the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge.

Yippie!! It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday – TTTC001

Hello, my crafty friends…… I’m super excited it’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday. I’m excited to be sharing my first creation with you today on the new Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog. For my design I chose the right row diagonal.

I trimmed down a piece of Black cardstock to 4 ” x 5 1/4″ and stamped the large floral image from the Floral Bliss Stamp set on the left side of the cardstock as shown using SSS Clear Ink and heat embossed with SSS Ultra Fine Gold embossing powder. The image was water colored with the Gansai Tambi Starry colors and a Silver Black Velvet paint brush #4. Once completely colored in, I set the background aside to dry.

I finished the design  by splattering some gold flecks  with a scattering of Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops.

Oh! by the way please don’t forget to stop by and see the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team http://tictactoechallenge.com/tttc0001-welcome/

I’m back……..

Happy Memorial Day weekend my crafty friends….. I’ve never been so sick in my life. I had a follow-up this past Monday with my Doctor and she informed me that I had pneumonia. Well! Hello people I didn’t get the email or phone call for sure. I’m on a stronger antibiotic that kind of knocks me out.  I’m on the mend and  getting some playtime in the haven off and on this weekend. Woot! Woot! I’m doing the happy dance over here. I’m back and playing this weekend in two of my favorite challenges….. CASology and Freshly Made Sketches. The cue word over at CASology is LOUD and what better way to express it with two tweeting birds.

My first card is pretty simple. I stamped  the first bird onto some Neenah Solar white card and masked it off. I wanted that little bird to look like he was caged in and couldn’t get out that’s the reason for all  the noise. I then stamped the cage over the masked bird.  I stamped the second bird on the side of the cage because he wanted to rescue his little friend.. I colored the cage and birds with copic markers, and mounted my card on a top fold Fog card base.  I was done coloring those hearts and dropped my marker so I had to improvise by rounding the corners. This was pretty easy to create.

Next up is my card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I love the sketch that Linda designed this week. I stamped the Lilly from the SSS Friendship Blooms stamp set onto Neenah Solar White card and colored them with copic markers. I tried a different coloring technique. I feathered the lightest color (V15) on the bottom and tips of the flowers. I used the medium and darkest (V17, V09) leaving a little white highlight it gives the flower some dimension. The center was colored with (Y02) I cut the flowers and leaves with my Brother Cut N Scan no fussing cutting for this girl.

I then arranged my flowers around a MFT Stitched Square frame, added some clear Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little shimmer and a few Novo Crystal Drops in Crushed Grape to add  embellishments you got to have that you know.  I used some glossy accents on the stigma the little black dot in the center of the flower to make it pop. I  stamped the sentiment in Versa fine Onyx black ink inside the frame and mounted my card on a top-fold Neenah card base.

Hope you like my take on this weeks challenges.

Happy Sunday……..

Hello my crafty friends…..whew I know it’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted here. I’ve been under the weather for a few weeks and can’t seem to kick this nasty bug. Since I’m under the weather I just can’t seem to find any creative mojo in my bones. I’m not sure what bug I caught but it just keeps on lingering. In the meantime I’ve been working on some other stuff.  I want to share it here with you. If you know me I love to participate in card challenges. A year ago one of my favorite challenge sites ended. I reached out to the owner to see if there was anything I could do to take it over. She was okay with me taking it over but I would have to come up with my own designs. I sought tons of advice from some industry friends on how to take on such an endeavor. To make a long story short and not go on and on…..I’ll keep it simple here’s a peak at what’s been going on around here! I truly hope you’ll  join in the fun and play along with us.
